Note: This coin is 34mm dia and 2mm thickness.

Note:  The history of Sicily and Naples is long and complex. However,

Heron is going to list the major points below:

1442 - 1458:  Part of Aragon (of Spain).

1458 - 1501: Part of Aragonese Trastamara.

1501 - 1504:  Union with France.

1504 - 1714:  Ruled by Spain.

1816 - Re-unified with the island of Sicily to form

'The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies'.

Note: The Mainland portion of Sicily was called Kingdom of Naples.

Officially there was Sicily Island & Sicily Mainland.

** Another very nice large Copper coin for Heron's small accumulation. This

adds a nice Copper and also is #445 of Central & Oest Europa issues.  And

this coin grades VF+.   In addition, this coin does NOT appear to have been

underground for a hundred years or so, although that does not stop Heron

from buying a 'hard to find' coin issue.   Sometimes we can 'upgrade' when

we have the opportunity.   These extra large Copper coins are truly fun

additions and fun to own.  And this coin was on the 'want list' for many years.

A fun hobby for a lifetime!**
