Europa C&O #389 - Muenster City 1 Heller 1790 - 1810.

4 de Diciembre 2018:  Greetings to all coin collectors where-ever you are!

Heron is very pleased to report acquisition of another Copper coin.  This

coin was issued by the Stadt Muenster.   The City of Muenster.  Issued

between 1790 - 1810.  It is non-dated.   However, there are differences in

the design of this Heller series that determine what time period coin was

issued.   One is the 'point' in center of the City Coat of Arms.  This coin

is KM 345.   And counts as number 389 of Heron's small accumulation

of Central & Oest coins of Europa.  This coin is 15mm dia.

Obverse:  At center is Coat of Arms of City of Muenster.

                     Legend:  STADT MVNSTER.

Reverse:       +1+

                           H

Note:  The 'City of Muenster' is not to be confused with the Bishopric

of Muenster.   The Bishopric had many more issue of coins.

Note:  This item was on Heron's 'Want List'...

A short history:

804 - Bishopric founded by a missionary sent to the

            area by Charlie the Great.

1068 - Renamed to Muenster.

1157 - Muenster received City Charter.

1815 - Muenster City became capitol of Prussian Westfalen.

**Yes, another small and neat copper coin added to the 'copper

accumulation'.   And also counts for number 389 of the C&O portion

of the small accumulation.  Heron prefers dated coins but will acquire

what can be found!   Time is of the essence here!   This is a really

fun hobby and has been since April 1946... Always great fun.

Heron also enjoys that type cheese.  Heron was gonna add an 'info source'

re the Muenster Cheese.  However, the list of info sources was inadvertantly

left outta the 'report'.

Not much info on the 'net' regarding the 1 Heller coin issues.

Maybe because they are a low denomination, Copper, and non-dated?

Anyhow:
