Heron is pleased to report acquisition of Euro Central & Oest coin issuing entities number 374. This is a nice dated Copper coin. Date is 1770. Searching for obscure entities of Europa Zentral is shirly a lot of fun! We never know what can be found. Especially now-a-days with eBay and a lot of innernet informacion available.

Short History:
1581 - Groningen & Ommelanden became part of the 7 United Provinces Neth.
1588- These Provinces became a Confederacy.
1793- Occupied by French Armee.
1813- These provinces regained independence from France.
1815- Vienna Congress established 'low countries' as new Kingdom Netherlands.

Note: Ommelanden is land area surrounding Groningen.
Note: Ommelanden translates to "surrounding area".

coins from somewhat 'obscure' places is neat! This entity was NOT on Heron's want list. These 'low country' coins are found 'at random'. Sorda
serendipitously. However, a nice Copper dated coin from Europa Zentral
