Hello,
I recently bought some shoes that qualify for authenticity. The seller provided a tracking number but has not dropped the item off at the shipper that will bring it to the authenticator. eBay does not offer the option to contact the seller when authenticators are used. Any tips?

It’s been 5 days btw and my frustration is that these are a Christmas present.

Go to your purchase history and look at the listing there to find the last estimated delivery date. On authenticated items there's a note that the delivery dates "include shipping to and from the authenticator". On the day after the last estimated delivery date go back to your purchase history and select 'I didn't receive it' to open a refund case with eBay. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do until then beyond contacting the seller for an update.

I've used ebay occasionally with no problems until now. Same deal here, seller gives ebay a tracking number and says it shipped, and seller never even had the item picked up. I can't believe ebay would even fall for such a dumb trick. As I understand it, seller gets his money once a tracking number is issued.
So now I am stuck in a loop waiting until the delivery window expires just to initiate refund proceedings. And you know where that will go, ebay does not have the money anymore.
Seller does not respond to anything.

For what it's worth, this ^^ isn't correct. And eBay can lay hands on your refund, too. Hang in there.

Thanks for the info. I was on the phone with ebay and that is what I was told. Pretty complicated process, not holding my breath.

There was no need to call eBay, and it's not a complicated process at all. Go to the listing in your purchase history and note the last estimated delivery date. If you haven't received the package by the day after that date, go back to your purchase history and select 'I didn't receive it' to open a case. The process is completely automated, and if the seller doesn't have tracking showing the package delivered, you'll be refunded.

Did you check the shipping section where they say, they ship within 30 business days of receiving cleared payment.

I tried to reach out to the seller but eBay does not allow you to contact a seller when the authenticator is involved. Any idea why?

Do you remember the seller's name? If yes, if they are selling something , click on an item and then click CONTACT SELLER to ask a question about that new item. Then when the page comes up, identify yourself and what you won and ask him the question if he mailed out the item.

Go to the seller page and see if they have any other items and then under the other items contact the seller.
