Search adds items from different categories.

I'm looking at DS games to buy, only platform selected is "DS" yet as you can see I can search results for games from other platforms.

Did you try change the search order from Best Match to Ending Soonest. I think eBay tries to manipulate the listings in Best Match to bring up their most favored seller's stuff whether it matches or not. I see the same thing happening on the US site as you do when it is set for Best Match.

If you searched for the game by title as well as platform and few or none were available for sale to Australia. eBay will fill in with the title on other game platforms. The results will also include other games for the chosen platform in hopes of getting you to buy something.
