For about the last week searches have behaved very strangely. For example - "model t" in EBAY collectables. I want to see all listings, times ending soonest, 50 items per page. This generally shows about 200 or so items ending per day. On this day the total items are 7,177 with about 55 ending today. BUT if I go down 10 pages (over 500 items more) of items ending in the future I can see more items ending today. What is going on? I have some searches where the results are even worse.

The bottom two entries on the page are "Sponsored" listings and aren't affected by your chosen sort order.

A few months ago there was a similar sounding problem with search -- auction listings and fixed price listings were sorting separately for some odd reason. After a couple of days the problem seemed to be corrected, if I recall.
I tried to recreate your search while blocking sponsored listings and I see about ten days worth of auction listings that seem to sort correctly, and then a bunch of fixed price listings ending today.
Try splitting up your search into only auction listings and only Buy-it-Now listings to see if each separate list sorts correctly for you.

10 pages of sponsored listings?

THANKS!!!!!! I think you have it. EBAY is showing ALL of the auction listings based on time ending soonest order THEN it shows all of the fixed priced listing. I have one search that had two pages (100 items) of auction listings ending today then fourteen pages (700 items) of later auctions before going back to the fixed priced listings ending today. What a way to run a search engine.....

I tried splitting the search into auction and fixed price. I thought that was going to work BUT when I get the fixed price listings, I get a few items going through the entire time span, then start again at current listings. Makes finding anything impossible.
