Received an empty tiny package from CS@orangeconnex.com. what is this?

@kirkshe_0,

Did you buy something from a China based seller as a guest?  If you did that is probably why you received the empty box. If you did buy something as a guest go to your email account, to see if there is a message from ebay giving you a tracking number, or a reply to your original purchase confirmation email from ebay w/ tracking information.

Read the information in the link below. Do Not file a dispute for Item Not Received, you will lose it since the seller has tracking that you did receive something.  Do not bother trying to contact the seller, because it is likely they will make promises the will not keep, in order to stall you past the point of being able to get a refund. 30 days from the date tracking shows a delivered scan.

https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/returns-refunds/returning-item/returning-items-bought-guest?id=4065

Start with the You want to return an item information

You want to select that the item was not as described, and  did not match the description as the reason for the return. Keep the empty box especially if it is too small for something you ordered. The seller may request a photo,  If they do take one or more photos of the box with the label showing and with a ruler or tape measure in it showing that it is too small for what you should have received.

The seller is responsible for paying the return shipping.  However, if they are located in China, they cannot buy return postage, but ebay may help them with that.  If not then go to your P.O. and get the cost of the return postage with tracking, and reply to the message with the cost. If the seller messages you saying you have to close the dispute in order to get a refund, you can ask ebay to step in.

If you have other questions about this come back to this topic and reply with them.  I or someone else will help you.

I got one today that had a weird little ring in it. I don't know where it came from either. I have not ordered from China for 2 or 3 years.

In some cases it's the fake tracking number scam.  A seller only needs to deliver a package in the same zip code as the buyer for eBay to accept it as delivered. So, why send an expensive item to the buyer when you can send a cheap item to a nearby address.  Dang, you make more money that way.

@mitzie2282

You need to read mudshark's instructions in post #2 on opening a not as described case.
