Only part of item received, item useless without other part (control panel for Bose CD-radio)

Bought a Bose Radio-CD player. It arrived with no control panel and is therefore useless. Left feedback but it does not appear on seller's record of feedback. A lot of money, useless item, every attempt to contact seller leads to dead end. Very annoyed and disappointed.

The seller will be required to send you return shipping for the item and refund on arrival.

If you're still within 30 days of receiving the item ... then follow these directions exactly to get refunded:

• File a 'return request' from your Purchase History ... choosing 'Doesn't match description or photos' as the reason for the request.  Include photos of the item if asked to do so.
• If the seller fails to provide either a prepaid shipping label OR a full refund within 3 business days ... then go back to your open request on Day 4 and ask eBay to step in.  eBay will do the rest.

If it's been longer than 30 days since you received the item ... you will need to request a refund from your payment source.  Call them and follow their directions for what you need to do with the item you received.

@reffy    I saw your later post asking whether a buyer needs to know the product well enough to know that it comes with a certain number of pieces.  

Answer:  An item listed as Used or Preowned is SUPPOSED to be ‘Fully operational and functions as intended’ …  meaning it must have all the parts necessary to do that.  You do NOT need to know ahead of time what all those parts are … just that it is ‘supposed to work’ with whatever parts you received.  If is doesn’t ‘work’ … it is ‘not as described’ and is returnable per eBay ‘s Money Back Guarantee.

I've never encountered a radio/CD player that was in two pieces. Any Bose radio that I've ever seen advertised was in one piece. Do buyers need to know the product so well that they know that it comes in pieces that are not included in this particular advertisement and sale? This is like selling a car without an engine, but not mentioning that small detail. I bought from this seller because he had 100% positive feedback and is in Canadian. Item was quite expensive into the bargain. No more Ebay for me.

You mean this one?  I can't see who the seller was in order to copy it from the seller's feedback . . . but the feedback is in your Left for Others so I think it's a safe bet that it's in the seller's.

When you say control panel do you mean remote.

As said can't tell which item exactly but there's loads sold that say "no remote" in the title or in the description.

The answer to that question is Yes, especially if the unit is listed as Pre-Owned or Used. It is so easy to look up an item online to see what accessories came with it, that there is no excuse not to do that. Almost all Radio/CD players came with a remote control so if one was not shown in the photos or mentioned in the description of the item, the time to ask if there was a remote included, was before buying the player.  

Most of those type units did not operate solely with a remote control they had an onboard panel as well. The panel should allow you to operate the unit, but may be missing features like random play.      If you did not receive an instruction manual with the unit, you can find one by doing an online search for "Bose (model number) CD player radio, user manual". 

  The manual should give the Bose part number for the remote, and you can search on ebay to see if somebody has one for sale. 

 I had to do that when the kids lost the remote for a Panasonic Radio/CD player I had. It was an older unit at the time but by setting up and saving a search for it, I eventually found one.

That still does not tell us what the listing included. Without viewing the listing, it is just a guessing game for those replying🤣
