I have been a Ebay buyer for many years and that being said. I have in the last +/- 10 months bought 2 MS Office 2019 in what I believe was and is the Original packaging with the DVD's and enclosed 2 Product Keys.
I installed them both and the laptop works fine then later I installed it on my desktop two months later it crashes. Then I bought a new HP desktop reinstalled my MS office 2019 with help from Microsoft. 30 days later the program stops working and says it has expired (?). I called Microsoft they told me that my product key was reinstalled 17 times and the same thing as to my other product key. I asked how could that be I did not loan it out (!). Then I was told it is not their problem. I should just call Ebay (!) and get a refund. Hey they were both received sealed and seemed authentic. I then asked if you track all your software to IP addresses, email's and my phone. Then how could others in a different region use my Office 2019. No answer just call Ebay and get a refund you have a pirated copies (?)
It is clear to me that Microsoft has damaged any faith I had in there Company and it seems that their products are not safe or even protected. It seems clear after installing it good luck in the near future.
I would ask Ebay to stop allowing Sellers to sell Microsoft Programs or Ebay will continue to allow fraud or just lose money giving a warranty on a authentic product (?) Then two months later Microsoft will claim it is a fake copy and to call Ebay and file a claim.
Hey as long as my laptop does not crash I only lost +/- 85 bucks and have in my possession two worthless disks and product keys. Give me an address and I will mail it to whomever you want since I can not use them so I don't need them.

Smart scammers can fake the whole shibang from discs to sealed packages

How is it Microsoft's fault that you bought a cloned activation key?
There are some things that just shouldn't be purchased on eBay such as event tickets/wristbands, mobile phones and software activation keys in particular...

Microsoft isn't "claiming" it's pirated; it IS pirated. Buying software from some unknown person is always risky.

If your going to buy MS office on ebay, just buy the product keys for $2- $4, they come with the download link instantly to your messages. I've bought many here and rarely have an issue with them. If a client has a problem I just change the key and they're good for many years. And for a few bucks you don't have much invested to lose.

Sorry but you are in the wrong here to 'blame' Microsoft when this has nothing to do with Microsoft.
The packaging may have seemed legitimate but it's clear that it wasn't. This is not to say that what the seller is doing is okay, he's obviously cheating people.
But it is one of those buyer beware things... I feel like anything that has a 'code' with it (software, gift cards, whatever) should absolutely be avoided being bought or sold on ebay but that's just my personal opinion I suppose.

Same thing happened to me. I have several back and forth emails where they swear its a good product key for 5 PC's. Their resolution was to offer me a product key for 1 PC and forget the other 4. Ebay BETTER step in or they will be complicit with fraud.
