I have been enjoying the summer too much and have ignored this group. Now I have a need.
I am working on the USA Uniform Presentation for Colorado State Button Society. I am looking for USA Hunt Club buttons to purchase.
The Big Book of Buttons has identify several in the USA. So to help in my treasure hunt, I am going to identify them for you and describe them as much as I can.
RADNOR HUNT - Pennsylvania. Raised in relief dog head with the words RADNOR HUNT on button.
ROSETREE HUNT - York County, Pennsylvania. Raised in relief fox head with the words ROSETREE HUNT on button. one piece blackened and silvered brass. Also, plastic.
GULPH MILLS HUNT - Pennsylvania. Raised in relief fax running with the words GULPH MILLS HUNT. One piece gilt.
HUNTINGDON VALLEY HUNT - Pennsylvania. Raised in relief dog with the words HUNTINGDON VALLEY HUNT on the button. One piece gilt.
SMITHTOWN HUNT - New York. Raised in relief fox head with the letter S on the left side of the head and the letter H on the right side. One piece plat gilt.
FORT LEAVENWORTH HUNT - Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Raised in relief letters FLH. Two piece flat. Also, had a lady member button.
11TH CAVALRY HUNT - Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Raised in relief with dog head on the bottom and the FOH on the top half of the button. Two piece flat gilt.
CAVALRY SCHOOL HUNT - Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Raised in relief with the letters CSH, which the letter S is larger.
ARTILLARY SCHOOL HUNT - Fort Riley, Kansas. Raised in relief with the letters AH, this overlay each other. Two piece, convex, gilt.
