Sold Items are NOT self-deleting

After the second sale in as many days of titles I just sold, I went through my sold items list and searched for active listings.

Every single sold item from Dec. 2 to today was still active. I had to manually end each one.

@taylor_memorial

If the Out Of Stock option is turned on, the sold items will stay active for awhile or until you end them.

Check your site preferences.

Have a great day.

If out of stock(OOS) is  the reason only you will see them.  They do not show up in search for others.

OOS allows you to keep the listing "active" if it is something that you my replenish to sell another.

I have no idea where "out of stock" can be turned on, first of all. I vaguely think it might be a "preference"
And secondly, it does not explain how these allegedly invisible "out of stock items" appeared as active to be resold: let alone 22 of them.

Some of these sold items were built from scratch; some were built from an item I had for sale; some were built from another sellers item--using ISBN number, because it saves me item specifics.

I'm not talking about mistakes I make by overcounting inventory--I've done that and I eat the loss without complaint.

I am talking about 22 consecutive sales which were still active.
You tell me if "out of stock" options were selected, they would NOT BE STILL ACTIVE, even if it was turned on by eBay out of an abundance of whatever.

For many years there has been a suspicion that eBay has glitches around this time of the year which invariably work in their favor.  This is the first "proof" I've had that it happens.

Funny thing: after I deleted all 22 of those active items (found by searching my active items, not my sold or out of stock items) I haven't had the issue.

Knocking on wood.
