Re: id ballerina? Help!?

I did see one similar barbie on ebay, but done in pink/pink shoes.  I looked under Barbie jointed foot ballerina.   Seems it was the same idea, so just another year.  The thing about looking on ebay is, you can't find her if no one is selling that one today - but maybe another day.   She sure has a gorgeous face.

Re: id ballerina? Help!?

Hi. I answered you on the toy board. She's from the Winter Ride Giftset from 1998.

I'm not the original poster, but still thank you so much for the info on such a beautiful Barbie!

Re: id ballerina? Help!?

I have one more thing that bothers me about these shoes. I wonder if you know if there might be other shoes that go over them? It's just odd to me, that such an elaborate outfit would have painted on flat shoes.... but I'm no Barbie expert.

Re: id ballerina? Help!?

No. She was sold with the shoes you see. Mattel quite often used up leftover parts. It appears to be the same body as Dance Recital from 1997.

The only accessories were a hairbrush and three ribbons for the horse's mane.

They may have felt that the elaborate dress on the Winter Ride doll would suffice to cover the painted-on shoes, or that little girls were unlikely to take the doll off the horse.

Thanks again.   Ha, ha, my nieces would have had her off there in the first 2 minutes.
