why am I not top rated plus

Screenshot 2025-04-11 162557.png

I have followed all the requirements that I can find. eBay says I'm eligible as shown in above screenshot. I've spent hours on the phone with agents. Followed the agents instructions. Still no top rated plus listings. Does anyone know whats up with this? Is anyone else top rated plus? Does that even exsist anymore? Any advice would be fantastic. Thanks.

why am I not top rated plus

Hi @atlantic_game_supply

-First, you have 4 items for sale and I see they all show the Top Rated Plus badge on them.

-If you are looking at your Active list in Seller Hub you will not see that badge.

-When you open one of your listings the Top Rated Plus designation is now shown below the Payments section on the page view.

Amazing. Thank you. The agents wow they didn't tell me that.

While we are at it does anyone know how toresolve a late tracking upload error? The appeal form that currently is available only allows for appealing late delivery performance related issues. A customer purchased an item from me then purchased the cables needed to operate it.  I put both transactions in same shipping box. Thus the track data was only auto uploaded for one of his two transactions. I realized that I had not uploaded the duplicate track data for both transactions days later and I manually uploaded it days later. However, that was past ebays policys and i took a ding one performance rating. The Buyer received everything on time, got a great deal and is super happy. They would even message ebay telling them that. Despite my performance rating is still being punished for that error. Which I did. Maybe it is what it is.  However, I don't think ebays policys were intended to punish top rated sellers for an innocent error that didn't matter to the buyers happiness with purchase which is most important.

It would be great to not have my rating dinged for that as I made an understandable mistake. That didn't effect the buyers satisfaction of their purchase. Any advice on that? Thanks.

The "ding" you are referring to is a Late shipping defect and those will roll off your account in either 90 days or 12 months depending on your sales volume.  They are NOT the end of the world as dings go but it is doubtful that eBay will remove it.

You can actually Combine multiple Buy it now items prior to printing a label:

-Sold items will be in your Awaiting shipment-print shipping label file

-Use the check box on the left for the items to be Combined

-At the top of the list is a Shipping drop-down menu on the left, select Print shipping labels

-The items will be moved to the Bulk label flow

-Use the check boxes again on the left and then click the Combine button at the top of the page

-The items will be Combined, over on the right you can adjust the weight, box dimensions, Shipping method (if necessary) and then review and print the label in the upper right.

-If you want a receipt it is a secondary function on the Bulk label flow.

Ok Thanks again, That's kind of what I figured. I am familiar with the multiple sip combo process unfortunately in my case I had already printed label for first transation and was almost done packaging it when the customer added the cables it didn't even change the weight so I just threw them in. It's too bad thou because without a remedy for innocent mistakes like I did that don't effect the buyers satisfaction. it turns me off from putting in the effort nd expenses to maintain the top rated plus status. Obviously my choice. For me I think ebay might be getting in their own way on this one. Regardless thanks so much for your help. Happy selling.

Not to bore you with more details that you may or may not already know you can Cancel a label within 28 days of purchasing it on this page: Track and manage your shipments

The label cost will be credited to your account in 21 days or less.

You can print a purchased label up to 5 times before having to buy a new one.

Sadly, part of the problem is that eBay has Seller metrics and the only way they can gather information is to monitor their activity via electronic means, tracking records, labels printed, returns & refunds processed, etc. etc..  eBay does not allow Sellers to "construct their own deals" even though many are more than capable of doing that ...

Totally agree. An appeal process would be amazing and give me more confidence. Even if it just for top rated. If not an appeal process then at least require less effort than what I spent to get an answer I didn't want to hear. Ha. What if you were busy today Mr Lincoln and unavailable. I'd still be lost. regardless thank you.

What do you think of this idea? Drop Top Rated Plus seller fee discount from avg of 10% to 7% and ebay pays for a team of agents and developers that cater to top rated plus only. I only have 4 items for sale currently because Ive been waiting to get some of the answers you gave me. Im assuming You have more sales volume in all categories than I. Maybe the juice is not worth the fee discount squeeze at your volume level.

Do you spent input costs working within the current ebay infrastructure with issues that are inevitable regardless of knowledge or effort in ebay sales? Do you feel hindered to cater to ebay infrastructure to reduce those input costs. Could a slight reduction in top rated plus tier seller fee discount allowing ebay to pay for better support and flexibility for top rated sellers be a big enough input benefit to justify the hit from a reduction in discount fee's? Like I said you would know better than me. Just curious?

@atlantic_game_supply

Actually, when eBay introduced the TRS Plus discount it was 20% off the Final Value Fees (FVFs) Sellers paid on their sold items.  Then they reduced that by 10%.  Sellers weren't happy about that as you can imagine.

In basic terms, eBay or any other online sales venue earns their income off fees charged to users, in this case Sellers.  As you continue to sell you will have to decide whether or not to participate in the fee based promotions they offer to increase sales ...

While this particular venue makes it easy to get signed up to sell there are a lot of rules and regulations to learn as one gains experience.  Sure, a new Seller could read everything from day one but there would be a % of that info they would not understand and a lot of it they would simply forget until they have an issue.
