I ordered a wall heater on eBay. Before receiving it I received an email from eBay advising against using the product. The exact verbiage was (We’re reaching out to you because an item you purchased may have been recalled or pose a safety hazard. We recommend that you stop using this product. ) The email then states if you have questions ask the seller. How would I know if I am receiving an honest answer from the seller?
Since then, I received the item and learned that the alert has been taken down. As a customer I would like to know what the issue was and why it no longer is an issue. I do not think that is unreasonable.

eBay recently required sellers of electrical items to provide appropriate safety certifications (UL, CE, etc), since too much unregulated stuff has been coming in from China and causing electrical fires. The warning may have been due to lack of certification that was later provided. Or perhaps the recall warning was too broad. You can search the Internet for recall notices of the make and model you received.
