where/how do I report a scam buyer?

received a few messages in the eBay message center from a "potential" buyer asking to have me sell items to them, ship to his "family member" in the USA, and accept a bank transfer money wire.

I know this is a scam, but where do I report the person at? The help center needs to be more helpful with this topic.

If you are not involved in a transaction, the only way to report a potential offer or a scam message is by contacting customer service directly through the "Contact us" link on the Help & Contact page.

Most likely the scammer will have discarded the eBay account and moved on to a different one long before you get through to eBay.

That's pretty much what I suspected.  Thank you.

It's a shame there isn't a reporting function button for general use, which is watched by eBay.

Is there a place to post their name somewhere to help prevent any further issues with them and other members?

In the past there was a way to report individual messages, but I suspect that eBay was so overwhelmed with reports about non-scam messages that eBay did away with the feature.

Scammers register and discard new accounts so quickly that I doubt any formal list could stay up to date long enough to be of much use to anyone.

Sellers need to be able to identify and recognize the scam itself, not the account it comes from, which changes every time, or the name the scammer supplies which is undoubtedly fake, or the address which is likely a freight forwarder.
