I have just sold some magazines with adult content and want to at least show that I am attempting to keep these items out of the hands of minors. I have tried to contact the buyer several time to ask their age (I know , that isn't guaranteed they are telling the truth) but I can't get the customer to respond to an age verification message request. how can I confirm the purchaser is over the age of 18?

< how can I confirm the purchaser is over the age of 18 >
A person must be 18 years old to have an eBay account. If they have an account on eBay, it is presumed that they're 18 years old. If they had lied about their age to create an account, they would also lie to you in answer to the question. You can stop wasting your time. https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/identity-policies/underage-user-policy?id=4233

It is NOT your job to vet a buyer after you've been paid. Your job is to ship the item. If you want to be certain you sell your adult magazines only to adults ... then don't sell them on eBay. [Sell them in person somewhere.]
eBay members are required to be 18 years of age. If they were willing to lie to eBay to become a member ... what makes you think you would be able psych them into telling the truth? How far are you willing to go?

thank you very much for the help. it's been a while since I created my account so didn't know about the age thing, I had assumed that the burden of proof had been on the seller.

Well bless your heart, your response would have been better received had it not been so condescending and rude. As I told the other person, I was unaware of the age limit for having an account since, when I created mine - I don't recall there being one, secondly, I had also assumed that the burden of proof had been on us, the seller to ensure that those of age were able to purchase adult content, otherwise, why would they have a specific area to post such items? Yes, the person could lie about their age to me, but then that would put the blame for receipt of the item on them, not myself. I have not sold adult content on here before so was not aware the responsibilities involved or not in this case - which is why I asked the question.
