trusted devices issue

I have repeatedly turned off auto login for trusted devices after making multiple purchases and I still get email notifications each time I make a purchase to turn off for trusted devices. I don't recall EVER given my device as a trusted device and hence authorized auto-login. I DON"T ever want auto login on after each purchase. NOT EVER!

I have tried repeatedly checking for a setting on the account for viewing any trusted devices and each time I do I get an Oops error we ran into a problem and can't check my account to verify my device is NOT listed for trusted device status. I have saved a screen shot of that. This has been a LONG standing problem and it brings into doubt any security I have when making an eBay purchase.

Again in conclusion I will never select my device as a trusted device and am wondering if there is something on a page that is auto checked by eBay when I make a purchase that I am missing that is possibly pointing to the cause of this problem. My account security is in question when for unknown reasons this keeps happening and a permanent answer is required for my ability to be assured my security wishes on the account are NOT being skirted.

What does the email you receive say, exactly? Try googling the exact text to see if that leads to any information about the feature you are trying to change.

You may be conflating two different features.

On eBay "trusted devices" only matter if you have multi-user access set up. If you do not have that, the "trusted devices" link in your Settings will not do anything.

There may be something separate with a similar name for 2-factor authentication, if you use that feature, though. I am not sure.

How are you being "automatically logged in", exactly?

If you are automatically signed in to eBay, you may have saved your account credentials in a browser or a password manager, or you may have failed to sign out previously.

If you are automatically signed in to PayPal, you may have set up auto-login in your PayPal account settings. Go to your PayPal account directly and change those settings or use the link to sign out of all devices.
