shipping via u.s. postage using just regular stamps

Hello, I am interested in selling some of my U.S. stamps via ebay.  The profit margin is very small on these items. Is it ok to ship in my own envelopes and just use U.S. stamps to mail?  I know there is not a tracking number if I go this route but the truth is I don't have a $3.00 or $4.00 profit on these items and can't afford to use ebay postage

Yes, you can do that but if you intend to continue selling on eBay it will be a problem. Your selling account will get defects for not uploading tracking information and eventually that will cost you more in fees and could get your selling privileges revoked. The other problem is that without proof of delivery any buyer claiming the item was not received will get a full refund. One of those would, I imagine, eat up all your potential profits and more.

What you want to do is look into using the eBay Standard Envelope for shipping your stamps. Read this article to see how it works:   eBay standard envelope | eBay
