It seems to be the popular and understandable opinion by sellers on this forum, that shipping via freight is a huge pain and should simply be avoided. Just go for local pickup and/or FB Marketplace and/or Craigslist. However, I have some large, high-priced items that would benefit from the wide exposure possible on eBay. I've attempted using a shipping policy of "Buyer arranges shipping and I'll assist you in ways that we can discuss before purchase." I just lost a buyer who wanted the item and would pay a significant shipping price, but discovered that shipping freight is a huge pain!
Is it an inescapable fact that, for the uninitiated (which includes me), freight is just not worth the extra costs and hassle? Are there services around sizable cities that will cushion, wrap, palletize and handoff to a shipper?
