shipping one order in multiple boxes

Have any of you had one sale that was too big for one box and so charged shipping for multiple boxes?  How would I do this?

If you're asking how to create more than 1 label, that is easy.  Print the first label. On the print confirmation page you should see the option to print another label. Change the weight and dimensions and print.

If you're asking how to set up a listing to cover shipping of multiple boxes, that is not so easy, but can be done.  You need to figure out how much to bump up the weight to cover the cost of the second package.

This is the chart for priority postage -

Look up the prices for each package.  You need to decide if you want to use the highest possible price, or something in the middle.  Say the packages are 4# and 5# and you go for the high middle (I'm using zone 7), so about $22 and $25 = $47.

Then find postage of $47 for zone 7 on a single package.  That is 12#.

So you would enter your weight as 12# instead of 4# or 5#, with the dimensions of 1 package.

This doesn't work if either of the packages are oversized (L x W x H greater than 1728).
