shipped wrong item

I shipped the wrong pants to a buyer. The pants I shipped of course was sold the same day and paid so I explained what happened and issued full refund. The item now shows as being not paid in the buyers ebay and in mine as well even though he has already been refunded. How do I get this item out of the system.
