Hi!
I purchased a few items from a seller (buy it now and accepts offers) --I put in offers and they were accepted.
Seller sent me a message that his payment system is being checked (under review?) and he is temporarily unable to accept payment. He said that he will get in touch with me after the review is over.
I emailed him back that this was fine and I was willing to wait to pay.
I'm still getting automated Ebay messages that I have these items to pay for. My question is if I wait to hear from the seller and it takes a while, will this cause any negative issues with my account from Ebay itself? I know you are supposed to pay within four days. The seller is waiting to contact me but will Ebay "wait" without negatively affecting me for not paying "on time"?
thank you!

If this is a new seller, they may just not know how things work. There is no such thing as a seller being unable to accept payment. If the item is listed and eBay says you can pay, then you can pay.
You are correct that if payment is not made within 4 days the seller can cancel the order with the reason that you did not pay. If they do that, you will get an unpaid item strike on your account. One is not a big deal, but get two in a year and many sellers will not sell to you.
You can either wait and hope the seller does not cancel the order or you can go ahead and pay. If you pay, the seller may not be willing to ship the item until their problem is resolved (if there is one). At least in that case you would be able to get a refund for item not received after the last estimated delivery date.
