What is seller protection?  My buyer broke the item, returned it and Ebay told me to refund and they would reimburse me and that is seller protection.  Now I'm being told that when I reimbursed my buyer that closed the case.  Ebay needs to get their facts straight.  Makes me want to close my store after over 20 years!

Where do you see that eBay will reimburse you?  This has never been the case.

When my buyer asked for a refund I called Rnay and that is what the representative told me. My buyer broke the item I sold him trying to put it on and EBay told me to refund him and I asked what about my broken item and they told me I would be reimbursed for it under the seller protection. Now I find out that after I refunded him the case was closed and cannot be appealed. I was not given the correct information from EBay so now I am not only out a broken part but the cost of shipping

Customer service gave you the right information about refunding.  You really have no choice but to refund when a buyer opens a case.  Your only choice is if you want the item back or not.  There has never been any program to be reimbursed by eBay, so that information is incorrect.

Returns can be deducted from your taxes (comes off the gross), but there is really nothing else you can do.  Sorry.  Returns happen to all of us.  As long as the buyer is within the 30 day money back guarantee time period, that is the way it is.

The customer service gave me the incorrect information.  I have done this over 20 years and very seldom do I have a return come back. This one was different, the customer broke the item trying to install it.  He admitted to it.  I called EBay customer service and he told me to refund and then send them the pictures of how it was returned and when I asked what about my item being damaged, he said Ebay would cover it under seller protection.  That's just the information I was told by their customer representative.  I live and learn because had i known they weren't gonna reimburse me, I never would have paid to have it shipped back to me because it was damaged by  my buyer.
