I have been dealing with a seller's shipping error and have begun to suspect something is off.
Long story, but seller contacted me to say the item I bought was defective and my purchase would be cancelled and refunded. It was refunded, but the item then arrived in good condition. Many messages later from them saying they actually shipped me two items, offered me a discount to purchase the fictitious second item, sent me a label to return the item, then finally gave me a paypal account to re-make the payment for the original purchase.
In 4 separate messages, I made it clear that I wanted to keep the item and I would again pay them the original purchase price. The responses made no sense, as if it was AI generated. I was clear about my wish to pay them fairly for the item.
Should I trust this paypal account posted in an e-mail to be legit? Is there a way to pay through the eBay website w/o an item being purchased? I do not trust this seller at this point.
