questionable buyer

Hello,

I had an item purchased by a buyer who's ebay account was created the same day the purchased the item. The buyer has not paid and they sent me a message thru ebay saying they wanted me to text them.  I believe this is somebody attempting to scam my info and have no intention of contacting them from my personal phone number.  Is there a way to report this to ebay?

If you don't mind waiting a few days, that is the best thing to do.

You could cancel as problem with buyer's address, but that doesn't affect the buyer's account.  Not that it matter much - the scammers use an ID for a handful of purchases then move on to another.

You might consider listing fixed price with immediate payment required instead of auctions until you have more feedback - then the scammers will leave you alone.

Plus, reconsider your starting price on auctions - at $1.99 with $14 shipping, your fees are going to be at least $2.30, which means you are losing money when you get only 1 bid.

Any time someone
- offers more than your asking price
- asks you to text or call them
- asks for your paypal address
- asks for overnight shipping
- asks you to include a gift card

it is the start of a scam.

The best thing to do is ignore them.  IF you want to take the time to report them, I would do it by posting a private message on on twitter or facebook. www.facebook.com/ebay www.twitter.com/ebay

Thank you for the quick response! So is it best to just let the item sit there sold but not paid until the 4 day payment window expires? Thanks again!
