invoice glitch/?

I am a 19 yr seller on eBay. Sold an item the buyer in US experienced can not get the invoice from eBay. He has never seen anything like it. I have never seen anything like it. David from team eBay selling said my acct. is fine zero issues and asked the buyer who has over 3000 stars to contact eBay. eBay shows I sent 3 invoices (tried 3times) and that ebay sent invoice. Ebay said they will investigate to see if it is a new "glitch" Sorry I did not give enough details, just wondered if anyone had heard anything.

WHY does the buyer need an invoice? Can't they just use the PAY NOW icon on the listing they won?
