I had an international sale it was what I thought to be a brand new unopened NVR. When the buyer in Mexico received it he stated that the in VR was actually a 16 channel instead of a 32 channel as the box described it to me. So he wanted to return it. EBay didn't give me the option to accept the return or decline the return. I was instructed 2 work it out with the buyer and provide a return label if I wanted my item back an eBay wouldn't do it through them they wouldn't provide even a way to pay for the postage. The buyer didn't speak English. It was a real pain in the **** and everywhere I see when they speak about the international shipping program they were gonna take care of all that stuff. That is so far from the truth. The buyer also left negative feedback. And the money came out of my funds to refund the buyer. In fact the buyer is still wanting 1500 pesos for what I believe he's saying that he paid some kind of return postage. All in all I lost money I lost what I believe was a brand new item, around $1000, and I received negative feedback the whole time EBay offered no assistance whatsoever

@thincpinc Sorry you had to deal with a bad return. Is this the listing of the item that was returned?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/145375385729
If so then you made a mistake on the shipping. You used direct ship to Mexico as the seller with Priority Mail, that's why you don't have the eBay International shipping Program protection. 😞
Copied from the sold listing>
US $92.49 | Mexico | USPS Priority Mail International |
You need to revise other listings too as I checked a few and you are NOT using just the eBay International Shipping Program.
For example this listing you are offering EIS AND direct ship with Priority.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/145468167656
From the shipping tab>
US $68.78 | Mexico | USPS Priority Mail International | Authorities may apply import charges upon delivery | |
US $51.44 | Mexico | eBay International Shipping | US $34.70 |
You ONLY want your listings to say eBay International Shipping. Then you have the protection of the EIS program.
On the listing form you will select NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING after you are opted in to the EIS program. I know this seems counter intuitive but that's how it works. It just means that YOU are not direct shipping to the buyer.
Here are more details about the EIS and what restrictions it has for price, package sizes, and categories:
You can read more about the eBay International Shipping Program and how to apply it your listings here:

As for communication issues, I use google translate and it works well.
