So i sold an item for $1200 but so far USPS has opened up a case to find the item. Where do I find the info showing the insurance amount i bought? I paid $36 dollars for the label. but i dont see anywhere on my ebay page showing the insurance amount. Nothing under the invoice or order details page. I need this to file the claim with usps. thanks in adance guys.
also when i search my tracking number on USPS, it only says insurance purchased nothing about total bought

Did you try looking at the label history page - https://www.ebay.com/ship/lmng/labels-history/my-ebay? Click on the service for that label and you get a popup window with the details.
If you purchased usps insurance, usps has the details - they are tied to the tracking #.

Yeah i tried that but it still doesnt show how much insurance was purchased, just the label price. Im just gearing up in case they ask me for documentation when i file the claim. It's weird because when i spoke to usps on the phone, they were asking me how much the insurance was. You would think they have all that info in front of them with the tracking number

Went to usps and they told me the insurance i filed for through ebay which was $1200. Doesnt tie into the tracking number and that they only see up to $500 on it. They said i would need the receipt showing $1200 insurance purchase. This is getting frustrating.

I’m going to ask another mentor if they know where to see the insured amount. I will also ask an eBay team member, but I don’t expect a response from them until Monday.
@mr_lincoln Do you know where the insured value can be seen on a label purchase?
devon@ebay Can you tell us where to find the insurance info?
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in getting here to post. When a Seller prints their label through eBay and purchases additional insurance the amount paid for insurance AND the item value being insured will be on the lower half of the label page (pic below). Green arrow shows the paid EXTRA Insurance amount and the orange arrow shows the item sale price being insured.
The eBay label flow ONLY allows an insured amount up to the sold value through their venue, meaning a Seller cannot purchase more insurance then the value of the item via USPS up to $ 5,000 (USPS statement below)
You can purchase insurance coverage for your mailpieces for up to $5,000 in indemnity to protect against loss or damage. Insurance fees are based on the item’s declared value. There are limitations for insuring some products and certain items.
If @lossieboy1 insured the $ 1,200 item via eBay label printing then THAT is the amount covered. To check that if they do not have the lower half of the label they can Reprint the original label up to 5 days after they purchased it making sure they check to box or setting to add the receipt (my pic above) on the label they print out.

Thanks! I'll be sure to print a receipt if I buy insurance through eBay.
Any idea of where the info might be available after the 5 day reprint is gone? The OP has an INR, so I'm sure that time has passed.

Most of us do not print a receipt, especially those of us that use a label printer. Hope this information is available elsewhere as well.

dang great response! but i use a thermal printer and that for sure didn't print out.
unfortunately since its been over 5 days and wouldn't have known package would get lost, I'm not able to reprint that label.
i also spoke with an ebay chat representative, they couldnt help me either but they suggested to print the "ebay data" under personal settings to hopefully get that info. ill let yall know what comes of that.
Only proof i really have is just showing them how i got my $36 label

@wooden_flower Maybe Devon might know if there is an older record (only) for labels that were purchased and are past the 5 day Reprint window ... I am not aware of any ... BUT if the OP purchased USPS Insurance through eBay it automatically covers the sold item amount, members cannot change the value eBay generates. The exceptions that the USPS statement implies (red bold below) may or may not apply to the OP's statement that USPS is only showing $ 500. I don't recall if the OP said what the item was and I don't know if that particular item would fall under the "limitations" comment by USPS. devon@ebay might be able to confirm some of those points but I think we need more info from @lossieboy1 on WHAT they sold ...

@lossieboy1 THAT is your proof, the "Declared value" is $1200 and you paid an additional $ 22 for that. Print that out and show that to the Post Office.

I think it is sunglasses, so I don’t think the limitation is the issue. It there was a limit, would eBay let them pay for insuring the full amount? You can see from his recreation of the label that he spent $22 to insure the full amount.
Can’t wait to hear what devon@ebay can add 🙂

@wooden_flower Won't here from Devon until Monday ... they don't work weekends.

Don't think the post office will accept that, as it does not show any tracking number to associate it with the package as the label hasn't actually been printed or paid for yet.

Yup sold a pair of sunglasses. I'll keep you guys updated after I speak to USPS again.
