eBay app inbox shows notifications NOT messages

For the last few months I can't see messages when I click on my Inbox on the eBay app. It only shows a few notifications instead. 

I can only see my full messages when I use the laptop.   

Anyone else have this issue? I'm using an Android phone, a galaxy g7.

When I go to my message inbox in the app, I see messages from eBay and messages from members.

Are you using the My eBay option at the bottom of the screen, then tapping the envelope icon in the upper right? The "Inbox" bell icon in the lower right is for notices.
