did not receive item; it's complicated

I bought an item from someone in TX on Monday, and they shipped it and provided a tracking number.  I got a notification that the item was delivered just a day later, which was very surprising because I live in GA.  When I checked the tracking number, it says it was delivered in TX, the same city as the seller lives in, with the notation "Delivered, Individual Picked Up at Postal Facility".   I contacted the seller and they said they've seen this before, that it's a mistake and the package will start moving again, but it's been 2 days with no update (because the status is delivered).  Is there anything else I can do besides wait?  Thanks.

Typically when tracking shows immediate delivery to the sender's zip code, that means that the shipping service mistakenly performed a "delivery" scan instead of an "acceptance" scan. That alone should not prevent the item from being shipped to the address on the label, and once the package gets another scan along the way the tracking should update correctly.

Thank you!  I wonder how long it will take for another scan.  I have this visual of my package sitting in a corner, all alone forever lol.
