eBay handles message deletion -- typically messages are deleted after three months or so.

Just think of the trash as a convenient spot to store unwanted messages so you can organize your message inbox.

You're talking about the messages in your Trash folder?  Those are not user-deletable, if deletable is a word.  They will eventually age out and go away.  I think it's about six months but don't quote me on that.

You can't delete the messages in trash. eBay does that after six months. Until then, they are kept for reference if needed. The message reside on eBay servers (not your computer) and you merely have a view into them.  If you don't want to see them, don't look in the Trash folder.
