I did not receive a message from eBay regarding a "data leak".

I am on ebay daily, and I did not receive a message concerning a "data leak."

my apple iMac alerted my when I signed into my eBay. Notice said to update/ change password as the was a data leak. No idea what that was all about.

If you use a password manager and share passwords between sites, a breach at any one site might trigger that sort of message to tell you to change that password at all sites if the individual password may have been compromised, or if the password appears on the growing list of common passwords that hackers try first.
