Do to surcomestances beyond my control  I had

to change my email account.  How do I update it here.

Ebay stated I  wold have to open a new account and start from scratch.

Losing all my customers and 19 years of selling + over 1800 of feedbacks.

I find it hard to believe that eBay has no way to change an email address for an existing account if the user no longer has access to the original email. You cannot be the first user to run into this issue before.

Is there really no provision to get that security code via text message? Is your phone number verified in your account?

It might be worth contacting eBay via social media and see if you can update your email address that way. You may have to jump through some hoops to prove you are indeed the original account holder. If you do not succeed on the first try, try again with another social media site.

A year or two ago eBay UK instituted a mandatory 2-factor sign in process suddenly, and many users discovered that their contact information -- email or phone number or both -- was not current and they could not sign in at all. I believe that eBay had a way for users to update contact info by reaching out to customer service, or else lots of users would not have been able to sign in again.
