change default location

How do I change the default location when searching for items?

After the listings come up, you can scroll down down down until you come to ITEM LOCATION, and make the change there.

left side of the page shows the choices, but you cannot save the locations, you'll have to click on the location with each search

If you mean the location for your shipping address so you get a possibly correct quote* at top right of a search result under the sort and display/customize dropdowns is where the "Shipping to: {zipcode if US}" display is.  Click the down arrow to the right of that to change it.  

*Note:  I don't trust any display except the one on the Shipping and Payments tab of the listing on the full website making sure it's to the right location including zip/postal code.  This should also change the default search result calculation for that session. 

I think to set a default to come up when you start a new session, you set your Primary Shipping Address at My eBay: Account: Addresses to the one you want.
