cancelling order due to delivery time constraint

Anonymous
Not applicable

After ordering a product and paying for it, the delivery time was way too far out for product to arrive to our home. I immediately cancelled within a few minutes of ordering. Needless to say, the seller would not cancel the item stating it already has been shipped. How do I deal with this situation if I can't contact EBAY?  It's not much money, but it's the principle. What if this happened to us with a very expensive item?  There was nothing showing about delivery being months out on an item that could be sent in a manilla envelope and arrival within a week?

Re: cancelling order due to delivery time constraint

The "principle" is that that estimated delivery timeframe to your location is there for you to check out before you commit to buy in the Shipping, Returns & Payment tab of the listing.  You agree to the terms when you commit to buy.  The delivery estimate eBay gives when you pay mirrors those that you see on the listing (adjusted for the time of day you actually paid and any holidays/weekends that might affect it).

If you don't get a package from the seller by the time the estimated delivery date you were given by eBay when you paid has fully passed, go to your Purchase History for that item, click the link for more options and select that you haven't received the item, then follow instructions from there.  If you haven't gotten the item as described or a full refund after 3 days (but before 21 days) from doing so go back and you should find a link to "Ask eBay to step in" to get your refund.

Hi @Anonymous

What principle are you talking about?  The 'estimated delivery date' should have been in the listing prior to your committing to purchase the item.  It should be in every listing.  There's a difference between your not noticing the date and it not being in the listing.

It looks like you've had a problem with every item you've purchased this year.   It doesn't seem likely that they are all the seller's fault.
