I sold a Nintendo Wii . I have a few of them, I'm testing each one and taking photos of them working and showing the serial number. The other day this buyer who is in the electronics repair business wants to return the one he purchased for reason 'changed mind'. Already lost a $200 different item when I declined a return this week I said, please return the Wii with serial # XXXX to me for a refund.
So I got the unit back today and I'm leery that it is the same one. The serial numbers match but there are stickers on the unit that weren't there before. I contacted the buyer and he said the stickers are his but the unit is mine.
The buyer placed the order on December 7th and it was delivered to him on December 13th.
There are two stickers on it, the first says it was received on 12/3/2021 and it was determined it needs a main board. My concern is that how did he know it needed a mainboard before he shipped it. I believe he switched out the inside of my unit with a defective one.
I contacted ebay, they said too bad and the very same day I received it and contacted them, they closed in the buyers favor and I got my first defect.
Do I have a case? Only $40 but I hate getting ripped off

There isn't much you can do.
If they did switch the insides, you couldn't prove it.

So how did he test it before he bought it. The sticker shows it is different or at least materially different because it was shipped with stickers.
