appeal unpaid items charge

Seller posted that buyer would agree to "seller additional charge" and at end the charge was buyer pays for carrier insurance. I explained if the item (guitar) with no carrying case gets damaged in transit, that seller understands the item will be shipped back to them on their prepaid invoice for a full refund. Seller has a "no return policy" and feels you bought it no matter how it arrives?

The seller is misinformed. First of all, he cannot add on additional insurance after the sale. The buyer pays the cost shown on the listing. If the seller wants extra insurance, he needs to add it to his handling cost so that the buyer sees the total cost when he makes the decision to buy. Insurance protects the seller, not the buyer.

Secondly, buyers have eBay's Money Back Guarantee. It's the seller's job to get the item to the buyer in listed condition. If he doesn't, he will refund the buyer (with or without a return - that's up to him, but he pays for return shipping).

You may want to move on to buy from a better-informed seller. I would have little confidence in this seller's ability to package the item correctly or concern for the buyer's satisfaction.
