Today I tried to add a tracking number to an item that I already printed a label for - to the same buyer - and eBay won't let me, says that number is already used, but I am using it for this customer's purchases!!! Very aggravating because it affects my ratings with tracking added!! Wake up eBay!!! Need to be able to do this NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the buyer is using the same user name for all of his purchases, then you can enter the same tracking # for each one. If the buyer is checking out as a guest or using multiple accounts, he has a different user name assigned to each transaction - in that case, you would have to ship each item separately in order to enter tracking #s.

I have entered the tracking number successfully many, many times for other buyers over many years, however this time with this buyer it did not work, and this is not the first time I have encountered this issue. At least twice before I have done everything exactly as you describe, and was unable to add the number because I received a message that this number is already used for another item. It is very aggravating.

In 21 years, and tens of thousands of transactions, the only time this has happened to me is if I tried to enter the same tracking # to similar or different buyer IDs (which were either guest purchase or purchases made on multiple accounts for the same buyer). eBay does not allow sellers to use the same tracking # for multiple buyer IDs to help cut down on scams.
