activating used MagicJack devices

I am trying to communicate to Ebay that they should not allow people to list used MagicJack devices for sale. I purchased a "MagicJack +" device and have now been told by several MagicJack representatives that once a device is registered and activated with them, it cannot be "transferred" to another account and/or have another number assigned to it. I was originally told that the previous owner could contact MagicJack and have the device's serial number removed. I conveyed this to the person I bought from, and they were nice enough to contact MagicJack with their old phone number and the device's serial number, and they too were told it couldn't be done. (They then refunded my payment.)

so, does anyone know how to convey this information to ebay so they can stop this from happening to others?

Unofficial workaround (note I have not tested this):

• Ask the previous owner to reset the password to something easy for you to use.
• Ask the previous owner to change the email address to your email address.
• You use your email address and the new password to log in.
• Change all the user information to yours, including adding a new name and address and deleting all the old information.
• If no service credit left, purchase a year or more.  Make sure you added your payment information and deleted that of the previous owner.
• Your device should now be working.
