Well, as the seller you are primarily responsible for delivery of your item.  USPS(for example) can reimburse you if there is insurance and you do a lost/damage package claim with them.


However, you need to take care of your buyer, by either sending a replacement if you have one, or refunding their purchase.

 

You can explain that you are tracking down their package and try to find out what happened to it, but don't make the buyer wait any longer than necessary.

 

You said "returned goods"  What do you mean?  Was this a return from the buyer?  Does that mean they did get them, and then returned it?


USPS should have a tracking number in either case.  What does the tracking number show?
