While browsing the ads I mistakenly placed a bid on a fairly expensive it's I already own.

I accidentally bid on an item I already have. Everytime I try to retract my bid Ebay says there's been a problem. I have contacted the seller as well to alert them of the situation. Is there anything else I could do to retract my bid?
