Hello,
In February I paid $558.00 for a printer that a arrived broken. There was a chunk broken off the front. I contacted the seller immediately and sent a photo. He said the printer should still work but it doesn't. The manufacturer says it's clear it was broken during shipping as these machines are very tough. They can't repair it as it's not under warranty. I've contacted eBay and the seller numerous times to no avail. I then filed a return request.
An eBay Chat person said I also had to file a shipping claim and she sent me a link. IThe claim cannot be submitted because it says it should be filed by the seller, and a shipping receipt attached. Then, it said a claim can't be filed anyway as the package wasn't insured.
I have photo's, a video and numerous emails that have gone back and forth since February.
After getting nowhere, I filed a dispute with my Credit Card company. Yesterday they said "eBay didn't rule in your favor." I just checked my eBay - there is no 'ruling' - all it says is that the seller has until May 9th to respond to my return request. So... here I am with a broken printer and out of pocket $558.00 and can't afford to buy another. Any advice please?

If you filed an ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED, damaged return with ebay, seller has no choice but to either pay for the return or refund. Otherwise, on the fourth day you have ebay step in and they will refund without a return. Did you close or let the case expire???
Otherwise, you did the right thing and filed a dispute with the payment processor, although this will void any ebay claim and you may now be responsible for the return shipping cost instead of the seller.
