What to do when a buyer doesn't pay

Okay, so I listed an item.  It sold for $92.  The buyer didn't pay.

I waited three days, then opened a case.  Waited another four days and closed the case.  Got my fee credit (as far as I know).

Was this the best method to take?  Because now it's been so long that the other people who bid are not interested in a second chance offer, and all I can do is relist the item.  What a colossal waste of time.  In addition, eBay is about as difficult to contact as Abe Lincoln (I'd probably have more luck contacting Abe Lincoln).

How do I know I can even sell it for as much as I got before?

I am just really cheesed off by this whole experience.  Should I have just canceled the auction after two days and then offered the second chance to the other bidders, or what?

Please help me, experienced sellers.  What did I do wrong?  What could I do differently?  I feel like eBay owes me more than a fee credit.

In addition, I can't leave any feedback on the buyer, so their feedback is still a squeaky clean 100%.  Really ticks me off.

Thanks,

Jesse

You took the correct course of action by filing the Unpaid Item Dispute.

You can go ahead an relist. Ebay doesn't owe you anything other than giving you the fee credit.

The buyer has now received a well deserved unpaid strike on their account, much more effective than negative feedback.
