What to do when USPS loses your shipment

It seems my shipment to my buyer has stopped tracking and hasn't updated in 15 days. I have opened a missing mail case with USPS. I've never had this happen before. What would be the next step if it is truly lost?

This is a vintage item and I can not replace it. 😞

(I did send it through eBay and it was insured up to $100. )

File an insurance claim at usps.com.  Most of the year, this gets a better response than the missing package request.  You need to refund the buyer as soon as he is tired of waiting.

Ultimately, it is you who is responsible for refunding the buyer.  Then it is up to you to get your money back through the USPS.  Good luck with that.

Just an update to this issue....

I filed a lost package through USPS and within 4 days it was found and delivered to my customer. Thank you to all your responses. 🙂
