What items have to be sent for authentication?

I am thinking of listing a lot consisting of more than 100 low and mid-grade commons and minor stars rather than selling them independently.  The combined market value of the cards should be in excess of $300.  Would I have to send those cards to the authentication center?  Or, is authentication only required for singles which are valued at more than $250?

@ejircoll   Only singles that list or sell for $250 or more can be authenticated.   Be sure to list in the trading card LOT category and say lot in the title that way the system shouldn't pick up your listing for the authenticity program.

Thanks for getting back with me on this.  I finally found a way to chat with someone at EBay.  They kept missing the point…I am selling a singles as a lot which will be worth more than $250.  How do I avoid having a bunch of commons and minor stars automatically sent for authentication.   The chat person referred me to an article which didn’t directly answer the question either, but did give me a link that gave me what I needed, as did you.   The key is to be sure and list the items as a sports cards-lot rather than sportscards-singles.  Thank you very

much for helping!!
