For a vehicle purchase all payments will go through the seller. eBay does not handle payments for any kind of motor vehicle other than a small deposit if the seller wants it to be collected. So the seller will tell you what is acceptable to them.
However if the seller is asking for payment through eBay gift cards or similar then this is a scam and you should walk away from the purchase. Also, if th4e vehicle was not actually listed on eBay then this is a scam as eBay does not handle outside sales.
