I'd like to offer buyers a volume discount on my item that has variations. The listing currently only shows the discount if they buy multiples of the same exact item. I would like to give them the discount if they buy 1 red, 1 blue, and 1 green for a total of 3 items. But the way it is setup, it only gives the discount if they buy 3 red ones, or 3 blue, etc.
Is this possible? Did I setup the listing wrong?
Thanks.
Or maybe it is going to give them the discount. I can't buy my own items so I can't test it. A few of the variations only have qty 1 in stock, so the discounted "buy 2" is greyed out. I'm starting to think it is going to do exactly what I want it to do and this was a dumb question 🙂

With a Variation Listing, each purchase of a particular variation is considered a single separate purchase, so the bulk savings discount only applies to that single variation purchase.
To provide a discount across separate purchases of different items, you have to set that up differently.

Actually it appears to be working as I was hoping. If the buyer adds each of the variations to their shopping cart then goes to checkout it does apply the discount.

When items are put in the shopping cart, the discount rules applied are those from your shipping preferences that have been enabled on those items. While the bulk item discount, as far as I know, would only be applied on multiples of items from the same listing, with or without being put in the cart.
If it is working the way you want, that's great, but I'd keep a close check to make sure it really is working the way you think it is.
