USPS first class mail getting returned

Anyone having issues with first class mail items being sent back en masse?  Not from the customer, but from the carrier.  I am aware dozens of pro eBay sellers use first class mailers and envelopes (with no tracking numbers) to send out thousands of small packages every day, and usually there is no problem.  As a customer of some of these sellers, I can say their items arrived in my mail box just fine. Did I just get stuck with a disgruntled postal worker, or is their perhaps a new regulation that I’m not aware of?

@cheapasscrap   If you are using 1st class letter then  "For a mailpiece to be eligible for First-Class Mail letter rates, it must be at least 3-1/2 inches by 5 inches by 0.007-inch thick, and no more than 6-1/8 inches by 11–1/2 inches by 1/4-inch thick. If the mailpiece falls within these dimensions, it is classified as a letter."

It can not be lumpy like having a pen in it or you have to pay an extra non machinable fee or possible be required to upgrade to package rate with tracking

Correct.  But what if it’s a ‘large envelope or flat?’  The bubble envelopes in question are all between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch think, even thickness, flexible, and 1 to 3 oz.   According to USPS R & R, this should qualify as a ‘flat,’ albeit no tracking.  Been doing this for months through multiple channels, then suddenly there’s an issue.  🤔

I figured it would come to that.  It’s off the wall for sure.  Thanks for your response, by the way.  Never expected it so quickly.  🙂

If you are using the large envelope rate to ship cables, they are probably being rejected for the lack of uniform thickness.

Flats are generally used for magazines or paper too thick to be a letter.  I have also seen them used for scarves and face masks - soft goods that are uniform in thickness and flexibility.
