UPS tracking hasn't updated in weeks... lost package

Hi,

 

It seems like UPS has lost a package. UPS website is saying there have been no updates to the package and that they have not received it. It's been over two weeks since it should've been delivered.

 

I have a drop off receipt as proof of drop off fyi. It's the first time I've ever had this issue with UPS and now my seller feedback is getting it's first negative review... Pretty stressful since I don't have insurance and the package is worth $800+

 

Starting a claim with UPS has been a nightmare with their web portal. Seems impossible for them to let me start the claim process even though I have an account with them. I think it has something to do with the fact that I bought shipping through eBay and used their QR code. Thanks for any help!

If you bought the label on eBay, there are special instructions to file a claim here (and you didn't purchase extra insurance above UPS $100?) -

Filing a UPS claim

If your parcel is lost or missing:

  1. Download and and fill out the Loss Claim Form.
  2. Email the completed Loss Claim Form to claiminformation@ups.com with the subject line "Customized eBay Claims Support".

Once you submit your claim, an investigation will be conducted by UPS to try to locate the package. If the investigation is unsuccessful, you'll receive notification with next steps to file for payment.

How are you communicating this with the buyer and when was it supposed to arrive?

If they open a refund request, you will need to refund them, they don't have to wait until you hear back from UPS.

Only after they are taken care of, you can ask them if they will revise the negative feedback.
