UPC code when listing items

All my new listing are requiring a UPC code. What's that all about? And how do I work around that.

Is UPC in the "Required" item specifics area? If so, try these options:

1) Put precisely Does Not Apply in that field (not n/a; not doesn't apply; not none; not does not apply)

TIP: If it says "No Match Found", just ignore this, X to Close the box, and list it.

2) Try leaving the field blank - backspace over any entry
